Do we own the automation?

Yes. The code that runs your jobs is yours, in your accounts, on your infrastructure, and it keeps running if we ever part ways. A simple deterministic automation often has no brain in it at all, so there is nothing to license: it is just your code doing your job. Where a build does include one of our brains, its structure is licensed to you while the data in it and everything it learns stay yours, on the terms our pricing page sets out.

What happens when an automation breaks?

It cannot get a decision wrong, because it makes none. What it can do is fail to run: an input it did not expect, or a system it depends on being down. When that happens it stops and tells you, loudly, with a log of exactly where it stopped, rather than half-finishing quietly and leaving a mess. A broken automation is a caught halt, not a silent one.
